Kurt Godlevske
Meet Kurt Godlevske, an accomplished Athletic Director at NLCS Middle School with a rich background in coaching and leadership. Previously, Godlevske served as the head coach of the Butler University women's basketball program for eight seasons, leaving an indelible mark on the team's legacy.
During his tenure at Butler, Godlevske achieved notable success, amassing 91 wins, making him the fourth-winningest coach in program history. His coaching prowess was recognized when he was named the BIG EAST Coach of the Year in the 2018-19 season, a testament to his dedication and strategic acumen.
Under Godlevske's guidance, the Butler Bulldogs not only competed at a high level in the BIG EAST but also made significant postseason strides, reaching the Sweet 16 of the WNIT. His coaching philosophy emphasized player development, resulting in numerous accolades for his student-athletes, including First Team All-BIG EAST honors and representation on the All-BIG EAST Second Team and the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team.
Godlevske's coaching legacy at Butler includes three BIG EAST Tournament victories and notable wins against nationally-ranked opponents, showcasing his ability to lead the team to success on the national stage. His inaugural season at Butler saw a remarkable 14-16 overall record, setting a new school record for wins by a first-year head coach in Butler women’s basketball history.
Before his time at Butler, Godlevske made significant contributions as the girls’ head coach at Bedford North Lawrence High School, leading the team to a perfect 28-0 record and an IHSAA Class 4A Girls’ Basketball State Championship in 2013.
A former all-state high school student-athlete and collegiate player, Godlevske brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his role as Athletic Director. He holds a degree in physical education and health from Northern Michigan University, a master’s degree from the University of Indianapolis, and a principal’s license from Oakland City.
Beyond his professional achievements, Kurt Godlevske is a devoted family man, proud parent to three children—Corrin, Noah, and Katie—with his wife, Beth. His passion for sports, commitment to excellence, and dedication to the overall development of student-athletes make him a valuable asset to NLCS Middle School.
